The Wheelhouse Difference

As a holistic planning firm, we uncover all components needed for a successful retirement.

We realize that investment planning is just a piece of the puzzle, and you need a comprehensive plan to get you to and through retirement, we call this a Retirement Navigator.

Your Retirement Navigator is a customized strategy that we develop specifically for you and your individual circumstances,  it is easy to understand and flexible enough to endure life's changes.

Our philosophy is based on “controlling the controllable.”

We work to help protect your life savings regardless of what happens in the stock market or changes to estate planning or tax laws, so when the unexpected happens, you can worry less about losing what you have built.

We know some clients enjoy managing their retirement assets on their own but having a trusted advisor to help in the event of the death of a spouse can be a relief for many. We welcome you to meet with our firm as a couple so that when the time comes, we are a familiar face and will be ready to help.

If you already have a financial advisor, great! But do you feel like a priority to your current advisor? At Wheelhouse, we focus on the client experience from your point of view. We pride ourselves on providing clear, consistent communication throughout your journey with us. From onboarding to annual reviews to fun client events, our entire team plays a part in your plan and is communicating with you every step of the way.

As a fee-based, independent advisory firm held to fiduciary standards, we are upfront and transparent about our fees. We have nothing to hide and will explain in detail how we are paid. As an independent firm, we are not limited to specific companies or investments. Because each client is unique, our planning must be too.

Transparent and Strategic

INDEPENDENT

Wheelhouse Advisory Group is a Registered Investment Advisor, this means that we are free to operate our business in a way that best serves our clients and we are not limited to utilizing specific products or investments as we build retirement plans for the individuals and families that we serve.

FEE BASED

We believe fees should be completely transparent and communicated from day one. We are paid by the assets under our management and/or insurance products we sell. As fiduciaries, our fees are fully disclosed in our Form ADV Part 2A disclosure document.

FIDUCIARY

As a RIA firm, we have a fundamental obligation to act in the best interest of clients and an affirmative duty to act with utmost good faith, to make full and fair disclosure of all material facts, and to employ all reasonable care to avoid misleading clients.  In essence, this means putting our clients’ interests ahead of our own. At Wheelhouse Advisory Group, when we put together a plan for a client, we act as if we are developing a plan for our own families.

Our Process

Get to Know Each Other

During the first visit, we aim to learn about your specific financial situation, any pressing financial concerns, and your priorities or goals for retirement. During this visit, we will also go over our processes and general ideas that may bring value to your family's financial plan.

Data-Driven Portfolio Review

During the second visit we will review your current plan, putting it to the test using our retirement analyzer. The retirement analyzer is built by our planning team and will stress test your portfolio to decipher whether you are on the right track to your current goals for retirement.

Game Plan - Mutual Commitment

The third visit serves as a time to finalize the Blueprint of your retirement plan. During this time together we will confirm all of the information on your Retirement Analyzer is accurate, discuss our four-bucket investment strategy, and Sign an Advisory Agreement in some cases.

Constructing Your Plan

After the third visit, our time together focuses on reviewing accounts as assets transfer in, presenting specific recommendations with our Retirement Navigator, further discussing our fee structure and billing process, and clarifying expectations as we begin implementing your custom plan.

Sign Finalized Plan

If changes were needed to your plan we will schedule an additional meeting to review and sign your finalized plan.

Establish Regular Reviews

All of our clients meet with their advisor on a routine and clearly communicated basis. This ensures that our clients' plans are always current and relevant to family's changing needs and goals.
